From K Composite #14

Louis Winner left Louisville at 18. He lived in Indiana, New York and California before returning to practice family and entertainment law. He likes outdoor stuff and realizes the irony of the fact that his three favorite animals are all basically the same: the wolf, the Siberian Husky and the German Shepherd.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WENT ON A PICNIC?

I think about a year ago?

ARE THERE ANY MOVIES STARRING PUPPETS THAT ARE BETTER THAN “THE MUPPET MOVIE”?

No clue. I can’t think of any puppet movies at all.

HOW DID YOU DECIDE YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN ATTORNEY?

I’ve wanted to do two things since I was very young: 1) play football for the Dallas Cowboys and 2) be an attorney. I’m 5’9″ so the Cowboys thing never worked out too well, and the law thing always seemed fun to me.

HOW DO YOU GET MOTIVATED TO ARGUE ON BEHALF OF SOMETHING YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN? IS IT A TRADE SECRET, A SIGN OF COMPETITIVENESS OR DO YOU JUST ENJOY ARGUING?

You are hired to do a job, and that job is to win. If the case turns your stomach, don’t take it. However, if the client simply wants you to take a position on an issue that you would othewise not recommend, do your best to present the argument in the best way possible. But to answer your question, I love to win, and yes I am very competitive. It’s more fun to win the tough cases anyway.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT NOW, BUT DO YOU THINK YOU COULD NAME FIFTY COUNTRIES? IF SO, HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WOULD TAKE YOU?

Yes, in about one to two minutes.

IS OPRAH FOR REAL?

I have never seen an episode of Oprah in my life and I have no intention of starting now.
